Text Mining: The Impact of Lyrica on Writing Quality

Text Mining joint project with Beth Young and Arielle Dortch for Text Mining class (IST 736) at Syracuse University.
Summary:
Analyzed 14 books and the associated Amazon reviews to determine whether the author's medications resulted in a change in writing quality. Performed analyses using MALLET, Python NLTK, and LIWC. Examined changes in vocabulary size, sentiment, topics, and writing structure and complexity. Books written while on Lyrica showed several distinct differences from books written off Lyrica, including a reduced vocabulary size.
